MARA CLARA MAWILI ESTRELLA

Senior Associate

Mara Estrella is a litigator with a strong foundation in civil, criminal, and corporate litigation, and a professional journey shaped by experience across top-tier law firms, government service, and solo practice. Her approach to legal work is deeply rooted in public service and driven by a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal challenges with clarity, strategy, and care.

She graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines Manila with a degree in Philippine Arts, where she developed a profound appreciation for the country’s rich cultural heritage. During her time at San Beda University, Mara ranked 16th in her class and actively contributed to the legal community through her roles with the San Beda Legal Aid Bureau and the Centralized Bar Operations, while interning at the Office of the Solicitor General.

Mara began her legal career at C&G Law, where she was involved in regulatory and tax litigation, energy-sector transactions, and corporate due diligence. She further honed her litigation skills at Poblador Bautista & Reyes, handling high-stakes civil and criminal disputes, labor matters, and IP enforcement, while also assisting corporate clients with regulatory compliance and corporate secretarial work.

Motivated by her commitment to public service, Mara served as the Municipal Legal Officer of Tanay, Rizal, representing the local government in litigation and advising across departments. She currently serves as Punong Barangay of Plaza Aldea, President of the Liga ng mga Barangay – Tanay Chapter, and Secretary of the LNB Rizal Chapter, reflecting her enduring engagement with grassroots governance.

Before joining AJA Law, Mara led her own legal practice in Rizal, focusing on litigation across civil, criminal, and special proceedings—all while balancing the responsibilities of elected office. She brings to the firm a rare combination of litigation depth, corporate experience, and real-world public sector insight.

Outside of work, Mara recharges through yoga, meditation, and football—pursuits that mirror the discipline and balance she brings to her legal practice. At home, she finds joy in quiet moments with her two cats, grounding her client-centered approach in empathy and presence.
