Miguel Benito Sunga

Miguel Benito Sunga focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation, with growing experience in corporate and regulatory matters. He has represented and assisted clients in proceedings before courts and administrative agencies, including the Bureau of Customs, the National Labor Relations Commission, and the Philippine National Police. His approach combines careful legal analysis with a willingness to question assumptions and consider practical solutions to complex issues.

Before becoming a lawyer, Miguel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines. His background in journalism developed a strong foundation in research, writing, fact assessment, and clear communication, skills that continue to inform his approach to legal advocacy and problem solving.

Miguel later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines College of Law. During law school, he trained with a public interest law firm and the UP College of Law Legal Aid Clinic. He also served as a legal extern at the Office of the Solicitor General, where he completed the program with distinction.

At AJA Law, Miguel works primarily on civil and criminal disputes while also supporting matters involving corporate law, labor, customs, and regulatory proceedings. His experience across litigation and administrative processes allows him to approach matters with an understanding of both legal strategy and the practical realities of dealing with government institutions.

Outside the office, Miguel enjoys esports, Magic: The Gathering, and weightlifting. He has also competed in collegiate esports and previously served as captain of UP Law Valorant teams.
